This week in our spare time we were given the task of learning how to use twitter properly. Twitter to me seems like a way for people to say something but because twitter has a character limit people are required to cut down and say only the things they have to say a convey only the necessary pieces. Twitter is helpful to stay informed with things that are happening in the game industry because these companies are always using twitter for updates on games they are creating. This is the same for many other industries as well because of how well you can covey things through Twitter. Twitter appears to be easier than other ways of communication again because of how easy it is to convey a message. I have enjoyed watching Epic Games, Insomniac Games and Bethesda's feed. Gamasutra's Twitter has had posts about varying indie titles. Twitter is also helpful with global changes because if Nintendo makes a new game changing technology even though they are in Japan I could know about it through Twitter.

This week to follow off the theme of last week we were put to the task of putting together an infographic about a legal problem. I chose Licensed Material and learned how Licensed Material is a way of taking iconic pieces of art like a character or a vehicle and make money off of outside of the initial product. For example the character Mario is Licensed and that license is sold to many companies so they can either use that character in their game or make other products with Mario like a T-shirt. I found it interesting how Licensed Material is mainly used to make money with though the selling the rights to that license to another company to use. The use of License Material isn't very complicated but making sure people don't steal your character design would be the hardest to keep track of.
Over the past week we started to do work in class so we started the year off with an infographic. Which was about a career within the game design industry and I chose Audio Engineer which is a career that has always interested me because of my love of music and sounds. Part of the infographic was that he had to do research on the career and for me I learned some good news that Audio Engineers are becoming more indemand and are projected to grow as an industry until 2020. Also that I would have to learn how to use specific programs used for manipulating sounds and music. The only difference this research has changed my opinion on Audio Enginner is that I'll have to learn more about these programs that are used in the industry.
