We have started to relearn our 3D modeling skills again so we can take models that I make in 3Ds Max into unity and make 3D games with them. The majority of things like creating and editing the poly and mesh has been easy to relearn, but actions such as texturing have given me some trouble due to the nature of my models and the size and type of textures I'm using. I love using 3D studio Max and enjoy making 3D models more than making 2D artwork so I'm enjoying the direction that class is taking and heading towards 3D for the rest of the year. I’ve always felt 3D modeling as come quicker to me allowing me to make cooler and more intricate models with cool textures.

It's that time of year again when teachers start to make recommendations for what classes they would like to take next year. For my AGAD class to get recommended for next years course which is an independent study we had to come up with a plan for next year so I came up with the plan of taking the ACU. The ACU is the Autodesk Certified User which is a test that would allow me to become certified in using 3D Studio max. This is something I could put on a resume for college or for a job application. The hope is to be able to take two tests next year the ACU and the ACA but the timeline appears very tight so it would be hard to fit the ACA into the timeline. The ACA, by the way, is the Adobe Certified Associate which is something you can get in Photoshop which is the part of the ACA test I would take because there are ACAs for other programs in the Adobe Suite.
