For our final blog post we are to reflect on how useful these blog posts were to us this year. For me the idea of a website is fine at fist because it is a place where I can put all of my art that I have done, but the actually blog part of this site I mainly only used when we had to for a grade. I never found this super helpful because of the way that I learn and do things doesn't work well with this style. Though having a website that I can call my own and display the works I have done I feel was really helpful because it showed me where I have come from and the improvements I have made over the year.

This week we were told to reflect again on Sci Vis last year and what was most important from the course. Last year the most important thing we learned were the principles of design and elements of design because without knowing these no amount of knowledge in any design program will help you if you don't understand these things. Also last year some of the most difficult things to learn were the finer details in 3DS Max because of the tutorials were done by someone who was terrible at explaining things and didn't speak clearly and I would change it by going back in and redoing all of the tutorials by that one person so I could make a more detailed and thorough explanation of those tools and modifiers.
Now having two years of being the the game art and design pathway we were told to reflect on our first year in Sci Vis and determine what was most needed to remember from the class. The main thing the class does is familiarizes a student with 3 main programs Photoshop, Illustrator, and 3D Studio max. These are all programs that are used in many fields. The other big take away is the sort of mindset that you have to work to get things done and not only complete the task at hand but do the task at a high level, because for the majority of students they don't have access to the programs used in class and many students assume elective classes are "easy a" classes but in Sci Vis you are pushed all the way through the year so when you get into GAD (the next course) you can spend less time learning fundamentals and focusing on more details and new programs that need closer attention when are being used. If i could have changed the class in a way though I would have had less things the state required because it takes way from time that the students could use to get hands on time using the amazing programs they have at their fingertips.
